A friend of mine commissioned an artwork for a music project he's been working on. I wanted to create an image that felt nostalgic. The ocean seemed like a perfect choice of inspiration because water is such a fundamental part of us, and Port Vell's music, like the ocean, can be at times dark and melancholic, but it also has a playfulness and quirkiness that makes me think of a child in the shore building his first sand castle.

I'm glad I didn't have to pick one, I did so many variations and I like them all.

If you like indie music, give it a listen: www.myspace.com/portvell

Dear Enid,

Ifound your Herbal Doodle sketch through Flickr and I tried contacting you by inmail - but tracked down this e-mail address as well - hoping for more luck this time.

I would like to ask your permission to use the herbal doodle drawing on a commercial poster for a company I work for (Rotterdam, Holland).
An illustration fee can be discussed of course.

And please let me know as well - if ok - how to put your name on the cover - like f.e.: Herbal Doodles made by Enid Soto/ Country.

Please contact me asap if possible.

With kind regards,
